This is the final part of MP, Stephen Metcalfe’s Forget Never Project which commemorates the Battle of Passchendaele and the final year of the Great War.

Production of THE SONS OF THREE COUNTRIES REMEMBERED, performed by DOT Productions with music from Fricklesome Amsel (Germany), Neel Hannes and Senne Jonckers (Belgium) and choirs from Lee Chapel Primary School and Woodlands School.

19th to 23rd February 2018
Tour of Ypres, based at the Peace Village, Messines, Belgium.

1st to 2nd March 2018
Launch of Peace Field Project locally in Basildon with the help of Colin and Wendy Parry from the Warrington Peace Centre.

7th to 8th April 2018
Re-enactments at the Museum de la Grande Guerre, Meaux, France.

28th to 29th May 2018
Platoon Experience, Zonnebeke, Belgium.

30th June to 1st July 2018
Somme commemoration, Albert, France.

21st to 23rd July
Sponsored cycle ride to Ypres, Belgium

17th August
Cricket match at Wickford Cricket Club to remember those WWI soldiers who played in the club.

15th and 16th September
‘The Great Escape’ – Re-enacting German POWs escape from Chelmsford in 1917

21st September
Visit to Poppy Factory in Richmond.

29th to 30th September
End of project exhibition at Wat Tyler Centre, Pitsea, Essex

2nd to 4th November
‘The Empty Chair’ carved by Hannes Johannsen, unveiling at Lochnagar Crater, the Somme, France.

10th November
Production of THE OTHER SIDE OF PEACE, a dramatisation about the men who came home. Performed by DOT Productions.

11th November
Meaux End of War Commemoration with the French President in attendance.
